The Mobile Mechanic started in 2011 with one truck, one toolbox and a stubborn belief that most of what goes wrong with a car doesn't actually require a car to be somewhere else. Fifteen years and a few thousand driveways later, that's still the whole idea.
We work out of a fully stocked service van — air tools, a diagnostic laptop, a brake lathe, a jack and stands rated for half-ton trucks. If a job genuinely needs a lift, we'll tell you straight and point you to a shop we trust. We'd rather lose the ticket than pretend.
Most of our calls come from people who found us the way you probably did: a neighbour's driveway, a coworker's recommendation, a Google search at 7:40 in the morning with a car that won't start. We answer the phone. That part matters more than people expect.

Squealing, grinding, a pedal that sinks toward the floor — we pull the wheels, measure the rotors, and show you what we found before anything gets replaced. Ceramic and semi-metallic pads in stock for most domestic and Japanese models.
Houston heat kills batteries faster than anywhere in the country — three summers is a good run here. We test the battery, the alternator and the draw under load, then replace what's actually failing. Old battery goes with us.
A code is a symptom, not an answer. We read the freeze-frame data, watch fuel trims and misfire counters live, and trace the fault to the sensor, the wiring or the vacuum line. You get a plain-English explanation and a written estimate.
Full-synthetic oil changes with a new filter, plus coolant, power-steering and transmission fluid top-offs. We reset the oil-life monitor and note the mileage on a sticker so the next one isn't a guess.
An August breakdown on I-45 is almost always a cooling problem. We replace belts, hoses, thermostats, water pumps and radiators on-site, pressure-test the system afterwards, and check the fan clutch while we're in there.
Buying a used truck off Facebook Marketplace? We meet you at the seller's address, put it on stands, scan it, check for frame damage and flood history, and give you a verbal verdict plus a written list. Cheapest money you'll spend on that vehicle.
If your crew's trucks sit in a yard overnight, we can service them there on a rotation — oil, brakes, filters, inspections — so nobody loses a billable morning sitting in a shop waiting room. Ask about monthly scheduling.
Tell us the year, make, model and what it's doing — the noise, the light, the smell. Nine times out of ten we can tell you on the phone whether it's a driveway job or something that needs a lift.
Home, office, apartment lot, job site. We need roughly two parking spaces and permission to work there. If you're at work, we can often handle it without you present — you'll get a call before anything gets replaced.
Every replaced part stays with you unless you'd rather we haul it off. You get a written summary of what was done, the mileage, and what to keep an eye on next.
Our bay is on Telephone Road just south of the Beltway, which puts most of southeast and central Houston inside a normal call window. If you're on the edge of the list, call anyway — we'll tell you honestly whether we can get to you today or whether you're better off with someone closer.
Outside these? Ask. We take longer runs when the schedule allows, and we'd rather quote you a real number than have you guess.

Our bay sits on Telephone Road between the South Loop and Beltway 8, on the southeast side — a couple of minutes from Hobby Airport. Look for the service van out front.
